Weekly Roundup 11/3/2019

Updated: Jul 4

An A La Carte of links to things I came across in the last week that I found interesting.

Podcasts I've Enjoyed

I hadn't searched for any new podcast for a while but when I did I found a couple I really enjoyed. First was Old Fashioned On Purpose from Jill Winger who I had as a guest on the Modern Homesteading Podcast back on episode 118. Another one I liked is The No-Till Market Garden Podcast by host Farmer Jesse.

The Biggest Little Farm

I rented this movie on Amazon Prime a few days ago and really enjoyed it. The story struck a chord in me on a bunch of levels and although it's not available for free yet it was definitely worth a few bucks and a couple hours of my time.

Nut Milking EXPOSED

I got a good laugh out of this video. I know there is some mocking and ridicule but the the video is just funny. My oldest daughter and grandson are both Almond Milk drinkers and I joke with her a lot about how it isn't milk so I thought this was worth sharing with her.

Encouragement In Times Of Despair

This is an article I came across from Desiring God titled "When Joy Feels Far Away" that lays out from scripture four simple reminders for those who are struggling to find the joy.

Urban Permaculture: The Micro Space

If you want to see a great example of intense food production in a small space check out this video from Geoff Lawton touring an urban permaculture garden. Very Inspiring if it's something you're interested in. https://vimeo.com/168726623

Becoming Whole: Why the Opposite of Poverty Isn't the American Dream

Western Civilization is wealthier, but it isn’t happier. We are the richest people ever to walk the face of the earth, but according to research, we aren’t becoming happier. Families and communities are increasingly fragmented, loneliness is skyrocketing, and physical and mental health are on the decline. Our unprecedented wealth doesn’t seem to be doing us much good.
